About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn and travel as much as possible
ABOUT ME
I'm an IT consultant from Brazil. I grew up in a city called Passos (MG). When I turned 18 I moved to Sao Paulo, where I lived for about 12 years. I went there to attend engineering school (Poli-USP), and I graduated as a computer engineer in 2005. In 2006, just after I graduated, I went to live in the UK for about 6 months, and I had the chance to visit many places in Europe. That was when I fell in love with traveling. Since then, I've been working with software development in all sorts of projects and companies all-over the world.
I found out about CouchSurfing in 2007, and my first experience was in 2008, when I went backpacking in California. It was an extremely positive experience, and I still use CouchSurfing whenever I can.
Nowadays, I live in Chicago, and I work for an open source company called Liferay (www.liferay.com).
PHILOSOPHY
What motivates me the most is the desire to learn about our world and to spread the word to others, and that's why I want to become a teacher at some point. I like to help people uncover their capabilities and realize their true potential, so they can help make our world a better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The biggest help I give at the moment is through spreading the word and going out with other fellow CouchSurfers. CouchSurfing is a fantastic community, and the bigger it grows, the better it gets.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few people in Chicago, and I have also couchsurfed in California in 2008. I stayed with couch surfers in many different places there: San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, etc. It was a wonderful experience and I still have many fond memories of that trip.
