ABOUT ME

I reside in the back country of northern California where I relish in the beauties of nature...I have a very close relationship with the land where I live... growing food , raising chickens(for eggs)I dont eat meat,keeping myself warm in the winter from the wood, gather electricity from the sun and hydro power,I watch the way nature behaves to learn anything I can ...not only how it can benefit me, but also how to help manage it and help it to thrive. In a sense you might say we take care of each other. Aside from this connection providing many of my physical needs, it is also the main source of inspiration for my oil paintings.. .the forest is a playground where I have fun learning to interpret what I see into works of art.

PHILOSOPHY

It is my philosophy that there is no greater way to conduct yourself in the world than to follow the "golden rule". Treat others the way you would like to be treated.. but I extend this rule beyond just the human realm,, to also include the animals, plants and all life forms really.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im sure that there are many things I can teach/learn from others, and vise versa... but often when people meet me or hear about me from someone else I find they want me to show how to make clothes from animal skins (though I do not kill animals, only use roadside casualties or gifts from people who hunt etc.) although this is VERY hard work and to do it you must be motivated...I can also show how to process acorn,bay nuts or forage for a variety of northern california plants,...
