About Me

Hi!
I’m a Finn who somehow ended up working in my neighboring country and now lives in a cozy little studio apartment. I’m social by nature and genuinely love meeting new people from around the world.

I’m often spontaneous, but at the same time I enjoy having certain routines in my life, a funny balance, I know. I might be that rare unicorn who suddenly starts dancing in the kitchen just because the mood feels right

My apartment is small but, in my opinion, quite cozy: everything you need and nothing extra. I offer a comfortable inflatable double bed for my guests. Though I do occasionally miss some of the things I left behind in Finland 😅

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I love sharing experiences, nature, and everyday life in Lapland with people from around the world. I don’t live in a big city — this is more of a village in the north, surrounded by beautiful wilderness and endless outdoor possibilities.

Lapland offers so many unique and exotic experiences: stunning nature, changing seasons, silence, fresh air, and adventures right outside the door. I’m still exploring this area myself, which makes it even more fun to discover places together — whether it’s a hike, a walk in nature, or just enjoying the calm northern atmosphere.

I also enjoy connecting travelers with local insights when possible and sharing what I’ve already learned about life here. For me, Couchsurfing is about meaningful encounters, shared moments, and discovering Lapland beyond the tourist highlights.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I’m pretty much omnivorous, it’s rare for me to come across a genre I truly dislike. That said, if you check my Spotify, you’d probably assume I’m heavily into metal… and you wouldn’t be wrong. Heavy music definitely dominates my playlists, but my taste is wide and curious.

My movie taste is just as broad. There’s nothing quite like watching a good horror movie while a storm is raging outside, wind howling, rain pounding, perfect atmosphere 😅 Finding truly good comedy can be surprisingly difficult, but action movies, those are never in short supply.

I consume a lot of books, mostly in audiobook form these days. One book that deeply moved me was Camp 14: Escape from North Korea by Blaine Harden. Stories that offer real insight into human resilience and life beyond my own bubble tend to stay with me for a long time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once packed a backpack with only the absolute essentials, got on a plane, and flew alone to the other side of the Atlantic for five weeks. No overpacking, no “just in case” items, and somehow, I survived just fine 😄

What amazed me the most was realizing how little I actually needed, and how well I managed on my own. That trip gave me a lot of confidence, perspective, and trust in myself, and a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone often leads to the best experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach how to laugh at yourself, honestly one of the most underrated life skills. If you can laugh at your own mistakes, life instantly gets a lot lighter.

Learn how not to take everything too seriously. Pausing, taking a deep breath, and looking at a situation again from a fresh angle can save you from many unnecessary misunderstandings.

Share good vibes, openness, and the reminder that most things work out better when we stay curious, kind, and a little bit playful 😄

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good company, open-minded conversations, and a respectful, easygoing presence. I’m happy to help with everyday things, join in activities, cook together, or simply enjoy a quiet moment. I also bring stories from Finland, from traveling solo, and from life in the north, and occasionally, spontaneous kitchen dancing 😄
