About Me

My name is Ido (http://www.forvo.com/word/%D7%A2%D7%99%D7%93%D7%95/#he), I'm 45 y/o, and I live in Jerusalem.

Now comes the awkward part, in which I'm supposed to praise myself yet to keep cool and casual about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a couchsurfer for about 11 years. So far I've hosted 132 couchsurfers, and it was quite an interesting experience. I have couchsurfed myself for the first time in 2015 in Port of Spain, and I think it improved my visit by having a better perspective about the country and its people.

Interests

Travelling, photography, reading, TV, hiking, basketball (watching only, too much coordination is required for playing)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most genres of books or movies, but I generally prefer realistic over sci-fi.
I like rock music (as long as it's not too heavy), pop (as long as it's not too MTVish) and Latin American music (I know, it's a very wide description). I mostly listen to Israeli music though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing to the top of Villarrica Volcano in Chile was a great experience. Climbing in the snow was quite difficult, but the views - of the surrounding lakes and mountains, and the lava in the volcano's crater - were rewarding.

Potolo is a remote village in Bolivia, a few hours truck-ride from Sucre. When I got there the local children hid and the curious ones followed me wherever I walked. When I looked for a place to spend the night, people sent me to the mayor, that offered me a bed in the local clinic. Visiting this village was a unique experience.
