Hey there!

My name is Ieva Marija Kvietkauskaitė and I am a recent International Business graduate, a food blogger and a food section editor for an online magazine. Travelling and meeting new people is on top of my priority list at the moment and I wish to make the most of it!

The thing that completely changed my mindset was an Erasmus semester in the most amazing Porto, Portugal. After making a bunch of friends for a lifetime, countless glasses of wine, scars after surfing, feet that are so sore from dancing you can't walk and many other funky things that happened I can't sit in one place anymore and the only thing on my mind right now is further exploring everything that planet Earth has to offer.

A summer of 2015 spent in USA was an another gift with incredible vibrant cities and small towns in the middle of nowhere, nature and people, but sadly I had to come back and finish my studies. Which I just did, so YEY!

What's next? Two years in Australia. Let's see what happens :)

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Meeting locals is certainly the best way to get to know the secret gems of any city, that's why CouchSurfing is amazeballs. Best place to watch a sunset, have a glass of wine, see the best art exhibition? Not always this info can be found online, that's why the help of the local hosts of CS is soooo much appreciated!

I have surfed in Paris, Stockholm, Bremen, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Boston and the experience has been more than amazing, so I'm very eager to continue!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Went to see the Grand Canyon in USA when it was raining like hell with thunders and lightnings every 10 seconds and your hair would just stand up from the electricity. The rangers told us that it is not allowed to go down in the canyon until the thunder has stopped at least 20 minutes ago, but you know, we travelled a long way from Vegas and no thunder is stopping us! So without hesitation we started walking down, almost falling after every step because the rocks were wet and seeing an occasional lightning next to us, just admiring the nature for showing its power. Did I mention that the Grand Canyon is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life? The size of it plus the rough nature was just mind blowing and this is a sight I will never forget.

Oh and I had 27 hamsters in total (no, I'm not a hamster-addict, they just like to make babies a lot).
