ABOUT ME

We are a travelcommittee of the studyassociation of the studies:
- International Development Studies
- Applied Communication Science
Perhaps it's interesting to know what these studies contain!

In our study of international development studies we focus on the living conditions of people worldwide. Some important themes we deal with are poverty, migration, conflict, globalization, environmental problems, sustainability and world trade. How do people react on change? How do they deal with problems like poverty and the deterioration of their environment? What do they need to do to improve their situation? How can international organizations, governments, and NGOs develop policies to support their aspirations for a better future? These are some key questions we deal with during the study. We examine developing countries and also Europe. The problems and cases are sometimes different but the goal is predominately the same: to contribute to a better and more sustainable view for people and their environment.

The study applied communication science views the same problems but approaches them from a communicative perspective.

Most people who join our studytrip are not that interested in the normal 'tourist things' but in the people who live there. That's why we would like to meet some locals during our study trip to Morocco. Are you interested in meeting some friendly Dutch students? Are you enthousiastic and willing show us your culture/your city/tell us something about the history of your country/ development of your country?Then we can be a perfect match :)

We'll visit the following cities during our trip:
- Fes: 12th, 13th, 14th, 25nd and 26nd of July
- Rabat: 15th, 16th of July
- Essaouira: 17th, 18th, 19th of July
- Marrakech: 20nd, 21nd, 22nd, 23nd, 24nd of July

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Two summers ago we went to Israël, we lived in a Kibbutz for a few days, visited cities like Nazareth, Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. We also visited some of the Palestinian territories (Bethlehem) and visited some refugeecamps. We met a lot of amazing people there and visited a lot of interesting NGOs. The previous travel committee used couchsurfing a lot to get in contact with locals and NGOs so I hope it can also be a great help for organizing our trip!

Last summer we went to Bosnia and Croatia. It was a very impressing journey and we met a lot of amazing people and NGO's! We stayed in Sarajevo, Mostar and Dubrovnic. One very impressing visit was to srebrenica, where we listen to an impressing story about the genocide that took place between the serbs and the bosnians.
