About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet everyone! See everything!

ABOUT ME

Hello! I come from the far off and exotic lands of Canada to meet crazy people to do crazy things with. I'm indecisive, reckless, unlucky, and impulsive, but at least I'm not boring! Also, I'll say yes to just about anything. The more impossible or insane the idea is the better. I just spent a year and a bit teaching English in dirty, stinky Beijing, starved for blue skies and oceans and wide open spaces, so I headed to Australia! After Oz, I lived in Hong Kong for a bit to experience the posh yuppie life. Save lots of money there, and have spent the last 7 months of 2014 traveling around Europe! 2015 is the Middle East-bring it on I say! I want to meet people can tell me something I haven't heard before and to go on adventures with :)¡

PHILOSOPHY

If you don't like something, learn to love it!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I'm in one place for any amount of time, I make DAMN sure that I host whoever I can and show them that place through my eyes.

The last place I was able to host was in Hong Kong (October 2013-April 2014, and even though I was working a lot and could not show many people around, we still had a house full of couchsurfers (seriously, sometimes 12 at a time) every night. We drank, we laughed we ate and everything was just peachy!

On the other end, when I am be hosted, I try and leave as little of a footprint as possible (meaning, I try and be a considerate guest, to pave the way for the next couchsurfers to come)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I find this site works better when you are hosting, than when you are surfing. I've extended warm welcomes time and time again to couchsurfers, and have been endlessly rewarded with great experiences and friendships.

On the flip side, I find I am too optimistic about finding a host when I really need one travelling, which can be a bit heartbreaking. But, as they say-don't let the bastards get you down!
