I'm mostly interested in meeting interesting people! After my visit to south east Asia as a backpacker, I realized how fascinating people can be! That's part of the charm of traveling I suppose.
The moment a little boy is concerned with which is a jay and which is a sparrow, he can no longer see the birds or hear them sing.
It has always surprised me how little attention philosophers have paid to humor, since it is a more significant process of mind than reason. Reason can only sort out perceptions, but the humor process is involved in changing them.

If I could define enlightenment briefly I would say it is "the quiet acceptance of what is."
Instead of making others right or wrong, or bottling up right and wrong in ourselves, there's a middle way, a very powerful middle way...... Could we have no agenda when we walk into a room with another person, not know what to say, not make that person wrong or right? Could we see, hear, feel other people as they really are? It is powerful to practice this way....... true communication can happen only in that open space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hosted a family friend from Sweden for about 3 weeks. Also, I showed a lady from Paris around the city a couple years back.
I like most anything. Art, in any medium, is greatly appreciated! there are very few things im not interested in i think. yea thats pretty fair to say. im not sure that ive ever been bored - except while working a short stint as a factory worker. that s**t will kill any love of life you might have.

Music, Movies, and Books
there will be blood, - daniel day lewis is a genius. i could watch him read a dictionary.. the music in the film is brilliant as well. jonny greenwood, radiohead composer - little, simple and base but soo effective.
no country for old men, green mile, usual suspects, godfather, chocolat, spirited away, fight club among many others. i like foreign cinema a lot! its a real insight into their culture.
I like a variety of music and books. im a classical musician but i really love all kinds of music with the exception of country music. im not sure ive ever heard a good country song.
ive discovered a few good producers recently that ive been checking out. diplo's album florida is good. jamie xx's album 'we're new here', remix of adele's rolling in the deep, james blake and bonobo are good.
There is far too much to say about music! i don't want to ramble
