I am a PhD student at Okinawa Institute in Science and Technology in Japan. Before moving to Japan, I've been working as a Research Assitant at my alma mater and in spare time sung with a local big band.

Currently, I can't host anyone as I'm living in a shared flat(

To me, Couchsurfing is a more sustainable way of travelling then staying at a hotel but, most importantly, it’s a great way to meet new people and save some money (to bring souvenirs for my hosts) 😃
It's about people, not places.

Музыка, кино и книги

At the university, discovered Jazz and it took me over. However, music can be various in styles and genres, and I listen to anything I come across. I love music and seriously consider giving it a go after completing a PhD.

Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan are contemporary western directors whom I admire. but I prefer watching movies that are less well known but damn good, e.g. Captain Fantastic.

And, books... Such an amazing invention!
I started actively reading only in high school and many classical pieces are awaiting me. Particularly, I'm fond of Russian literature - a huge world to explore.
After reading “Zen Buddhism & Psychoanalysis” by E. Fromm, my world slightly tilted and I begun my journey in self-awareness.

Shared a music stage with outgoing jazz musicians behind congas at a uni festival. It was a wild and fun night!

- As a self-taught musician, I can show you the bits and bobs ofmusical theory or how to play piano or guitar. Or, just play together.

- Instead of small talk, I choose "big talk" 😊
I believe that we all have stories to tell that help others to learn something about themselves.
