About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission impossible.

ABOUT ME

Hello folks! I'm a Finnish philosophy student who happens to do his PhD in Sydney. Other than that, I'm a guy who smiles a lot, likes a beer every now and then, and plays bass in the (in)famous "Head in a Jar" band.

PHILOSOPHY

Uh, now this is not easy to say for one who does philosophy for living. Most probably my philosophy is a some kind of mixture of Hegelian ideas and contemporary analytical thought. In normal everyday language this means that I try to enjoy life, have a good time, and treat people nicely and friendly. :P

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, at the moment I live in a rented room where I have no real possibility to host anyone. Hopefully the situation changes in the future. As a new member to the community, I'm looking forward to meeting nice people and possibly find a place to sleep on my occasional travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just joined in so I have no experiences of couch surfing through this site. However, I have often stayed on friends' and aquintances' couches in the past so the etiquette and the behavior itself are not unfamiliar.

Interests

My free time is mostly filled with band rehearsals, gigs, and philosophical speculation with friends over a beer. Occasional match of soccer or playing a board game provide some contrast.

Music, Movies, and Books

I cannot possibly list everything in here. Let's just say that my music taste has expanded from the early teenage years "only metal" attitude to more varied stuff, some of which could be labeled as alternative, progressive, avant garde or 70's pop.In my free time I usually read cheap sci-fi and fantasy instead of heavy philosophy. For some reason I like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" a lot even though it is pretty far from my actual life.
