About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Conceiving, thinking, reasoning, discussing...being immersed in the Great Books

ABOUT ME

Enthusiastic and over-flowing with energy ... is that a legitimate description?

PHILOSOPHY

Following the path of my life, learning along the way, helping others, being happy...
"An unexamined life is not worth living." - With regards to what I study at the moment (I would say at St. John's I study to learn about my soul), this statement would be very well describing my personal philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was at a CS party in Krakow, Poland, hosted by Patrick, who let me stay at his apartment afterwards. I also surfed a couch in Buffalo for 5 days, which was also awesome. My couchsurfing experience in San Francisco counts among the best ones, too, for I attended two great events that were just awesome. Thanks, CS community :-)!

Interests

I love buying and reading books; I am into nearly any kind of outdoors and athletic activity - skiing, cycling, cross-country running, soccer, cricket, badminton, climbing, ski-alpinism, swimming, basketball, and also chess and pool. I am currently devoted to studying philosophy and philosophy of science.

Music, Movies, and Books

Studying the great books at St. John's, I like reading books and talking about books and there is just too many to be mentioned here. Plato's dialogs are most amazing, I enjoy ancient Greek tragedy and comedy (Aristophanes, Euripides, Sophocles, Aeschylus), more modern authors (Steinbeck, Tolstoy, Tolkien, Remarque, Jane Austen), William Shakespeare's plays, and Czech authors (Jaroslav Hasek, Vladislav Vancura, Bozena Nemcova, Franz Kafka, who makes me uneasy...).

I listen to all kinds of music, and I have also lately discovered how fantastic classical music is.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having read Kant. Having seen cacti bloom in the (semi)desert of New Mexico.
