About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission? sounds like a pretty serious question! :). I am here to feel free, live adventure and enjoy life!..my mission is to learn as much as possible, to share with other people, to travel and to explore the world.

ABOUT ME

I am a young, enthusiastic, open minded and curious person. I enjoy life, love traveling, I like to meet and share with people...learn from them. There is sooo much to explore... I like languages, have always enjoyed learning about other cultures, I am constantly changing places, exploring new destinations. Love the sea- and all sports that have to do with it. As long as I have the time, I get great satisfaction from doing sports- cycling, running, swimming, kitesurfing. Enjoy long walks. Do like my silent and pensive moments too, tho. I paint and draw when I feel inspired. I love the sun, cloudless days! Although I am an epidemiologist by profession, I am also a kitesurfing instructor and I love staying close to the ocean teaching the sport. Follow the wind, ride some waves and suck the bonemarrow of life :-).

PHILOSOPHY

BE & LIVE. This is the essence of my moto.

a phrase by which I try to live my life:
live with INTENTION. walk to the edge. listen hard. practice WELLNESS. play with abandon. LAUGH. choose with NO REGRET. continue to learn. appreciate your friends. DO what you LOVE. live as if THIS IS ALL there is.

Live + let live. Basic maths: so work out the equation and keep in balance with the rest of the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i was born in Poland, but moved to Panama when I was seven. Lived in various different countries ever since. My life has been in constant motion...and so I happened to do part of my high school in the Uk, Uni in Italy, Warsaw, etc, etc....to make a long story short- now I live in Belgium. Throughout all my life I have been exposed to great number of places and people. I have met wonderful souls out there and I have had the opportunity to travel, be hosted and host myself through the years. wonderful experience...as long as people are open, positive and friendly, I do not mind either hosting them or showing them around.

Interests

traveling, traveling...kitesurfing, sailing, diving, Photography, swimming, biking, reading, learning languages, surfing, drawing, folk and soul music, alternative rock, watching a good movie, making plans for the next new destination...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

wow! many…
-camped outside in the savanna with goosebumps at the sounds of hyenas outside
-lived full time on a sailboat
-sailed the entire Pacific coast of Panama
-Crossed the Panama Canal
-got caught in a shooting in Mexico
-got lost at night in the middle of the mountains in Morroco :-)
-seen elephants run free
-saw boiling lava gurgling down a volcano in Nicaragua
-swam with sharks in Belize
-asia was too full of contrasts
-have done border crossing by land in all 7 countries in Central America
-have done nightwatch along the coast of Venezuela while sailing to look out for possible pirates (real pirates!).
-galloped on a donkey with bedouins in the desert
-the air in some cities of africa was full of tension for which I am infinately greateful to know that I live in a country that knows no war
-was caught by surprise by a family of dolphins while diving. will never forget how graceful and infinitely harmonious they are
-had a whale shark appear like a massive submarine in front of my eyes during one of my dives in Coiba
-while crossing the Gulf of Mexico to the US, got caught in a 16hrs storm of 45knots (I dont want to ever experience that again, we can be glad we came out alive after battling wind and waves for hours without end).
-one thing that had a great impact were the natives in Darien and the way they lived in their communities- their philosophy of life and their humbleness and simplicity..i think we urban creatures have so much to learn about basics from them. they really left a unique and memorable impression in me.

Teach, Learn, Share
