Overview
About Me
I graduated with my degree in Chemistry, but by the end, I hated it. During my time at university, I spent my summers working at summer camps. I worked three years at Camp Alonim (Jewish camp near Los Angeles) as a nature specialist for 3 summers, and then at Camp Fire San Diego for one summer as a nature/science specialist. This summer I am going to be working at English Adventure Japan as their hiking instructor, and when I return to the United States, I am going to be participating in a nature education fellowship. I love being outside in nature and sharing my love of nature with the world. My philosophy is that if there is not anybody to share how amazing the world is, people will grow up and not treat the Earth substantially or respectfully.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have participated in a lot of types of travel. I have gone on 100% organized group trips with no free time, cruises, service trips, study abroad, backpacking, and road trips. Of all of those, most have left me feeling like a tourist, doing the things that only tourists have done, and feeling like I have not met anybody who actually lives in the countries I am visiting. It is still fun, but I would love to live with people who know the area and the places that you cannot find on the "25 things you have to do..." lists.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite musician is Spencer Day, and I enjoy listening to country music, jazz, and indie rock/indie folk music. I love books about travel and adventure, as well as science fiction and fantasy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a week volunteering at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We helped feed, bath, and take care of the herd of elephants. We got to know the story of the elephant in Thailand and gained an appreciation for elephants.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching appreciation for nature and each other. I love learning about traditions around the world, both cultural and individual. I love sharing experiences with people. It enhances whatever activity I am doing. I also love sharing food! The more I share, the more I love whatever I am doing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my knowledge of Judaism, and my love of cooking!
