About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the 7 continents, explore myself, and of course the only way to do this is to meet new people and make connections!

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in California and i'm afraid that is probably where i will stay. it is my home and my family. However, i love to travel and my favorite part of traveling is meeting new people and learning new things. Meeting travelers makes me very happy and makes me want to embrace the world!

i am studying psychology at UC Berkeley. i just got back from studying abroad for 4 months in Córdoba, Spain, which was my first time living outside of Cali. But i desperately wanted the experience to live somewhere else, and i hope to have more similar experiences in the future.

I guess i can tell my life story, but i find that how i tell it changes as i grow up and i myself change. my views on the world, are constantly evolving as i meet new people and experience new things. but basically, my core values stay the same. i learned recently in a leadership program the importance of introspection. never before had i listed my values and narrowed them down one by one to discover what is most dear to my heart. and you know what i discovered in this class? LOVE! my relationships and love are my number one core value! this may come a little bit from my upbringing. my parents were active environmentalist in the 70s, and their hearts especially belonged in the deep canyons of the earth. they were white water river guides for years, and they developed a strong sense of community and sharing and the and appreciation for the world around us. so this is me. i am a daughter of this line of thinking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to offer up my own beautiful comfy red couch in berkeley! and trust me, once you sleep on it you will never want to leave!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

because i am new to this community, i dont have very much couch surfing experience or crazy stories to share. however, i did meet one cs host while i was living in cordoba, and he was incredible! the generosity i see that comes out of couch surfing is very touching, and i feel that it attracts people who are very passionate about life and about meeting new people. so i feel comfortable surfing with others because i feel that most are going to be very happy to receive me and my experience traveling will be more memorable because of the friends i make.

Interests

Sometimes my problem is that im interested in too many things! so many that i cant make up my mind about what i want, i guess i am just a very indecisive person at times. but to start off a list, i LOVE to dance! all sorts of dancing, and i guess what comes hand in hand with dancing is the MUSIC! i love feeling the music and letting it take over my body. and what kind of music do i like? well like i said before, i have too many interests, and that includes music too. i love almost all kinds of music, depending on my mood. but i guess my favorite is almost always something with a guitar and a beautiful voice.

i also play water polo, and i have basically been a waterbug all my life. my parents took me on my first whitewater rafting trip when i was 2, and every since i have been addicted to water: swimming, rafting, playing, tanning, drinking...

i love people, and that's why i am studying psychology. my focus is actually social psychology and i am currently helping with some undergraduate research on couples. my love for people probably contributes to my love for language. i love learning new languages because in the process you learn a little bit more about the culture and how the people think differently from you.

i also like art, books, movies, traveling (obviously!), learning, EATING, cooking, walking... and so much more. but i will have to add to the list as i start using cs more and more
