ABOUT ME

I am an easygoing Aussie, who is looking forward to meeting lots of interesting people and learning heaps about the world through Couch Surfing (and hosting).
I am a trained artist and art teacher who is currently not practicing either. Instead, I am working with young children with special needs, giving them a head-start in life.
I express my creativity through cooking, and love to experiment with food. I have been a vegetarian since I was 16, but will have to give up for a few months in Europe to experience all the wonderful food!
I love to travel, but so far haven't left Australia. This is all going to change in August though, when I try and squeeze as much of Europe and the UK as I can into 5 months - can't wait!

PHILOSOPHY

Respect other people's differences, without them the world wouldn't be half as interesting. Try and learn something new every day.

Too many to list...
I love movies that inspire me, make me think, make me cry, make me angry, make me laugh or surprise me (not necessarily all at once!).
I have an eclectic taste in music, but lean towards the rock side of things, as opposed to the mass marketed pop of today side of things.
I mostly like to read fiction books, particularly fantasy. A favourite is Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, and Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. I'll pretty much read anything that someone recommends to me though.

I once saw a mountain goat riding on a camel's back at Dubbo zoo! I'm sure I'll be able to write an essay here after coming back from 5 months in Europe!
