I'm a stay at home mom to two Boston Terriers (Billy the Kid and Sophie-Rose) and an Amstaff (Kaiser/The Pig) and love to read, and get more tattoos (from my tattooist brother) and hang out with my dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm planning a two week trip to Paris in March 2016, and I thought this would be a good place to find somewhere affordable to stay, and I'd also like to meet some new people, get out of my comfort zone a little.

Interests

Reading, almost everything. I like history, fiction and feminist literature, and my particular favourite authors are John Steinbeck, Carson McCullers, JD Salinger, Jack Kerouac... In fact, the list is a long one, and "favourite" is a difficult word. Let's just say I finish about a book a day and my kindle is the nicest present I ever got.

I am a musician (check us out on Facebook, "The Suitcase Hearts"), and love most music. Particular favourites... Beethoven, The Be Good Tanyas, Dolly Parton, Emily Wells, at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've released an album, with my previous band, Bone Key, and produced it myself in the very difficult months after my father passed away (we were very close). It was voted the 13th best album to be released in South Africa in the preceding 10 years in 2010, something of which I am very proud.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people a couple of dirty words in Afrikaans, and a little about the beautiful city I live in, South Africa. I'd like to learn French, and more about the world in general, and I can share my time!
