Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great opportunity to see life of a country from the inside as opposed to an outside kind of impression that hotel dwellers usually get

Interests

I enjoy learning languages. I remember when I was in middle school I saw a Korean girl who was speaking English to a shop assistant, asking whether she could enter the shop with her bag. The shop assistant did not speak any foreign language. Suddenly I felt an urge to help, I approached and said what had been probably the worst attempt to use English in the history of it. I don't know how, maybe the Korean girl had a gift of telepathy, but she understood me. How happy I was feel that sense of achievement! Then I understood that perhaps learning a language to practice it in real life is what I really like. I learned some more English in high school and then got into a university to study Japanese. China and it's language is something I want to understand in the future.
Hitchhiking is my favorite way of moving around (however, if it's not too far some biking is great). It gives me the sense of freedom, the feeling that I can go anywhere right now. I also met a lot of cool people this way. It's like speed-dating with no romantic component=)
