Hi!
My name is ILYA (it's russian version of Elijah ).
I grew up and graduated university in Saint-Petersburg, lived and studied English in New York for half a year, a lot of times visited Northern Europe (Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Estonia) and wasted some weeks for vacations in Cyprus, Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt. Also I had a lot of business trips to Siberia, the Far East of Russia and even to Tajikistan (it was really tough experience).
Mostly I've been living in St.Petersburg with my friend in small apartment just near a subway.
My professional fields of interest are psychology and social work with children at risk and troubled families; trainings for professionals; LGBTQ's problems; social services and NGO's development.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is a little extra space in my apartment in St. Petersburg. I'm not really sociable guy (well, I just don't like beer and talking about nothing:), but I like to make new connections, walk with people around the city and its suburbs, practice my English or עברית and travel to other countries.
So couchsurfing is a good way to help other people to look at such a beautiful city like St. Petersburg and amazing opportunity for me to improve my English and find new friends in other countries and travel a little bit more.
