As I grew up in a big, talkative family, sharing stories over dinner was our thing. When Couchsurfers joined us, it felt like the world had come to our table.
When I travel, I don’t want to just tick places off a list I want to discover them through the eyes of those who call them home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a random weekend, I went back home to visit my parents and they were hosting four Couchsurfers from all around the world. Purely by chance, all of them were artists. After dinner, we had tea and they started playing together; violin, guitar, singing, creating an impromptu symphony in our home. Surrounded by my family, my five adorable cats, and perfect strangers who had become part of this moment, our home transformed into a magical place. I couldn’t help but shed a few tears, overwhelmed by the beauty that human beings can create, the light of music filling the evening, and the way different cultures came together under our roof. That small, fleeting moment was unforgettable, pure magic.
