Overview
About Me
I'm a farmer and cheesemaker. I studied fine art photography in university. I've lived across the Appalachian mountains and consider the northeast of the United States to be my home. In travel, I'm often looking for an interesting place to read (and people watch), drink espresso, walk in nature, swim, and converse about life, travel, politics, music, or anything that arises....also willing to swim in all seasons especially if there's a sauna involved... :))
When meeting and hosting, I live outside of Hamburg (40mins by car or 1hr by bus + foot). Hosting is a bit complicated because i don't live in the city but if you're passing through, I'm happy to have you. I have an unusual work schedule and am often available on Thursdays and Fridays to meet up in the city... Hamburg or Lübeck.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hoping to meet interesting people and learn about pockets of cultures, particularly in food and community. I recently completed a 3 month solo road trip from Biddeford, Maine to San Diego, California, spending a month in Tucson, Arizona and then driving back east to West Virginia.
I was traveling through Europe and the UK in search of food, pockets of communities, cultures, and small organic/biodynamic farms. Now I've spontaneously taken a job making cheese on a cooperative demeter farm in rural northern Germany. Still bouncing around on my days off and very unsure of what's next....
I'm also trying to learn to crochet, so if you are keen on teaching I would be sooo appreciative

Music: funk, rap, punk, bluegrass, emo/screamo, a bit of reggae, soul, blues, jazz-ish and I've been most recently obsessed with flamenco...but really anything organic... I could listen to ocean waves for hours.
Books: I'm always reading something, especially in winter
Movies: anime, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, dark comedy, animated short films, lots of short indie films..... i can't keep up with releases but let's see a movie at your closest indie cinema.... !!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can gladly offer good conversation shared over a beverage 🍵 🍻 ☕🍷. I'm a fairly easy going and relaxed person.
