I have never hosted, but will as soon as i get a big comfy couch... and I have had a mixed bag of experiences surfing. Made some amazing friends along the way.

mmm... just one? impossible. I hypnotized a lobster on an uninhabited island off the coast of maine in the atlantic last week ---and ate her... (for a long time vege woman that was pretty amazing.) THat was a trip. hence the "try the lobster"
