About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel around the country and meet people, explore, hike, geocache, soul search and write.
ABOUT ME
i'm 24, from upstate NY. I've always loved traveling, exploring and nature. I went to school for 6 years, was president of my fraternity and very active and busy. Now i'm finding life is rather dull.

PHILOSOPHY
"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The basic core of a man's spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
- Into the Wild
"All your life, someone is pointing the way, directing you this way and that, determining for you which road is best traveled. Here is your chance to find your own way. Go on your own. Be adventuresome. Don't forever seek the easiest way. Here for once in your life you needn't do anything, be anywhere at a determined time, walk in a certain direction. You can now life by whim."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
What i can give -> On March 20 (the spring equinox) I plan on leaving my house in Syracuse NY for a 9 month+ road trip. I'm driving a minivan converted into a miniapartment and bringing my husky Dazey. I would love to take along other travelers and adventurous spirits. For a day or for a month, come join me and explore this great country.
What i would like to take -> I have 75 friends in other states. I am staying with many of them, but there are large areas without a soul that i know. I'm looking for people who would let me sleep on their couch/floor/backyard and maybe let me use their showers/kitchen for a day. I would repay in cleaning or whatever else you ask of me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I havent had my first experience yet, but looking forward to it greatly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Top 6 Amazing Things I've done. (There are many more)
1) Worked in Yellowstone 2 summers. 35 mile backcountry backpacking trip. Saw Mountain Lion cubs and a Grizzly. Lived in the Tetons for 1 month and went on a 350 mile Hikehitching Trip.
2) Went on a 6000 mile roadtrip from NY to Mexico, San Deigo, and to over 10 national parks in 3 weeks.
3) Found over 1100 Geocaches in over 20 states. Ask me more about this one.
4)Lived on a nearly deserted Bahamian island for a 3 week research trip. Palm fires, bicardi and skinnydipping. Also saw a hammerhead shark.
5) Got stuck on top of a mountain in the Adirondacks without food or water and only 1 flashlight. It started snowing and we had to hunker down in an abandoned ranger station and wait til mornin.
6) Winter Camping in a tent in temps at -25 to -32 degrees BELOW zero! BRRR!
