My motto is 'life is a game, the biggest challenge is to start playing again'.
I love to express myself through art. By doing something creative I feel alive and fulfilled. It can be by simple things such as cooking a nice meal for a friend, playing with paints or taking pictures around the world.
Art a part, I work with children with additional needs in a school based in Hackney. This job has enriched me deeply. I will soon leave to go studying DramaTherapy at university. This is what ultimately I would like to do with children and broadly with vulnerable people.
Before London I used to live in Rome for more than 6 years where I studied photography and I started exhibiting my work.
As a Photographer I am very curious about people and their lives. I am currently working on 2 important projects.
'Through Our Eyes' (granted from the England Art Council) involves regular photography classes in a SEN school with 7 severe autistic pupils and it will lead to a final exhibition at the Hackney Museum at the end of 2015 Summer term.
'Second Skin' is an act of creative transformation in which the subject choses an outfit that belongs to a family member who they have strong emotional resonance with. This familial relationship (either positive or negative) with the family member allows the subject to further explore the connection by incorporating a piece of clothing that holds an intimate memory. Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the moment I have a photo project on-going called Second Skin (read more about it above or visit www.samspade.biz).
If you are interested to take part please do get in touch, I am still looking for people to participate!
A part from my art stuff, I've been using CS on and off since 2008. It has provided me with priceless experiences and each time I recognise the value of travelling on the cheap and as a local. I find it absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to everyone that want to travel and meet new people.
Art therapies, photography and contemporary art, cinema and theatre, dance, music and books. But above all to meet new people to create a supportive network across the globe.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love films, when I can't travel it is my favourite way to get distracted and wind down. I love art house cinema and independent productions that feel more real and don't necessarily require a Hollyhood budget to make a film.
On the book side, I am reading the life of C. Jung at the moment, pretty fascinating!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time in India was mind blowing. I never experienced anything similar. Instead of travelling all over the country we decided to travel across Rajasthan. Finding and adjusting ourselves in such a different reality made me well aware of the importance of travelling.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am willing to offer good quality time and share my experience.
Occasionally I can host in my place in London. I share the house with my boyfriend and another 2 flatmates. I will be more in London from October 2015 since I will be studying full time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversations, Good healthy veggie food, a good laugh, a good film, a good boogie, some fun.
