Über mich
UPDATE: back to Odesa for some time.
UPDATE: now studying in Fredericia, DK. On weekends, can meet up & show around.
UPDATE: going on some trips for a while, now, so no hosting is possible until mid-December. Going to study in Denmark for some time then, starting January. Send me requests, and we'll see though.
University dropout from Odesa, Ukraine. Travelling around the world is the best kind of rebound. Proud Queer and LGBTQ+ activist. There's no such thing as former IR student. History nerd.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Couchsurfing seems to me like a perfect place to meet new people and to tell people who come to you more about you country, your city, your culture and show them what they probably won't be able to see during formal tours booked through tourist agencies. I'm on Couchsurfing because, to me, cultural difference is extremely important. And travelling, expanding your horizons while getting to know more about the world you live in is much better that living all your life in one city and being afraid to get out of your nutshell.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Basically anything. Deeply value good lyrics (Right Away, Great Captain or The Front Bottoms, for example). I was brought up in a punk-appreciative surrounding, so that'll stay with me for life. Classical music, also, especially Erik Satie, Edvard Grieg and Franz Liszt.
I am absolutely fascinated by 'Testament of Youth' which is a film based on Vera Brittain's diaries, and 'Dunkirk'. Basically, all history-based movies (British, mostly). 'Matrix' and 'Inception'. And this is everything I can remember while writing this paragraph.
February 2018 update: 'The Darkest Hour' literally broke my heart.
July 2018 update: 'Foxtrot' broke my heart, once again. Thanks, Israeli cinematograph.
July 2018 update: 'Kona fer í stríð' gerði undur með sál mína.
July 2019 update: 'Pain and glory', 'My thoughts are silent', 'Keep an Eye Out', 'The Dead don't die', 'Synonyms', 'And then we danced', 'Tel Aviv on Fire', 'Never Look Away' - great entries from OIFF 2019.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Once I had to hitchhike with a little kitten on my lap and, honestly, this was the best and the most terrifying thing I've ever done.
All volunteering gigs I've done.
Hitchhiking route Lviv - Odesa (through all of Moldova) in less than two days.
Give me a Film Festival to volunteer|work at and you'll probably never see me again.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Enjoy life, enjoy moments, enjoy people.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
An interesting talk or a story, I hope. Maybe I can teach you how to say something in languages I know or study at the moment. Politics talk is always welcome. Some traditional food, although my cooking skills correspond with me being a student.
HISTORY MEMES ARE EVERYTHING.
