ABOUT ME

I like to spend several days a week meeting with strangers in pub function rooms in order to perform improvised comedy. I'm a big fan of barefoot running around the South Downs (to keep fit), and I'm also a director of a private medical business (to sustain my improvising and overall santiy)...

To be quite honest my life has been taken over completely by Improvised Comedy these last few months.. I took a short ten week course with The Maydays in Brighton and now I'm completely obsessed!

I spend about 8 hours a week doing workshops in both Brighton and London, and I'm keen to take courses in everything from masks to accents, character acting and traditional theatre. I've also signed up for a standup comedy course and - as ashamed as I am to admit this - it's even got to a stage where I'm seriously considering doing a mime workshop to improve my object work in scenes *Shudder*...

I'm not quite sure why I'm doing all this but life's about having fun and taking risks. All I know is that it's a joy to be involved in such a vibrant community; It's a bit like Fight Club - only you meet strangers in pubs and end up being silly and laughing for several hours at a time instead of fighting.

When I'm not doing that I try to run barefoot a few times a week. I quite like the freedom of it, and the great looks you get from other people when they wonder what you did with your shoes..

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with my brother at the moment so unfortunately I can't offer a couch to anyone at the moment. I'm happy to go for a drink or show you some Improvised comedy if you fancy a day out in Brighton though :D
