About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To remind the joy of life to those who have forgotten

ABOUT ME

Hmmm. Describing oneself is difficult because like anyone I encompass innumerable paradoxes, poles, and dynamic unions at once. Every soul embodies eons of cause and effect that have crystallized into a constantly transmuting singularity. Anything less than meeting me in person would be two dimensional at best.

But in brief, I like to think I'm a pretty awesome guy. I love people. I love life. I care very much for all of life and consider myself truly lucky and blessed to be alive. I'm a fun loving, energetic person. Usually I'm very out-going, but I also enjoy being introspective. I'm thoughtful, considerate, respectful, and in general an all around nice guy. I'm also naturally spontaneous and seldom turn down a good adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in kindness and in the triumph of love and compassion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, even though I made this profile long ago I only couchsurfed once because I moved around so quickly that I found booking in cheap hostels or staying with people I met easier. I've never actually hosted any per say, but I have a lot of friends who couchsurf and speak wonders about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My one couchsurfing experience was great. The host was super friendly and helpful and he showed me around some pretty sweet spots.

Interests

I spend most of my time at the beach, in nature, playing sports, surfing, doing yoga. I practice Tai Ji on the regular and dedicate a lot of time to personal introspection, meditation, reading and writing. I love sci-fi, fantasy, philosophy, astronomy, and anything occult. I study acupuncture, Chinese medicine and massage. I love music. I love to dance. I go camping whenever I can, and love to explore new and uncharted territory (uncharted by me at least). I'm a lover of arts of all kind, and of course, I love to travel and meet new people as much as I can.

I recently had a daughter. She is currently six months old, so I still do all of the things I mentioned above except now I do it with them! And maybe we go camping a little less than I used to (for now!).

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to books I enjoy more than anything science fiction and fantasy. I also read a lot on philosophy and the occult. Other interests of mine are astronomy, physics, world history, natural and holistic medicine, nutrition, and exercise science.

Movies, I watch mostly anime, comedy, action, adventure, independent, foreign, visually stunning, psychological, thrillers. Almost anything really. The only genres I don't particularly watch are horror movies or anything extremely depressing.

When it comes to music I love it all, especially hip-hop, reggae, jazz, rock, and anything with a sick guitar. I also jam to a lot of lounge and electronic. There's so much good music out there. The only stuff I can't stand listening to is the commercialized garbage they pour out on mainstream American radio.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Man, I've done so many amazing things so far, where do I begin?

Keeping it PG, hiking Mount Etna, Mount Shasta, and Machu Pichu.
Backpacking through Europe with four of my best buds right after high school was one of the highlights of my life.
Camping and bouldering alone in the desert with no one for miles.
Backpacking through Central and South America alone for a total of 9 months and spending quite a period of time in isolation in the Peruvian jungle studying plant medicine under an amazing curandero.
I'd have to say though that by far the most rewarding and challenging thing I've done is become a father. It's changed me far more significantly and in more rewarding ways than any other life experience I've had so far has.
I also live in an intentional community of 13 people under one roof and we all get along amazingly which to most people seems like a miracle, but really it's been quite normal from the dawn of time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share all the knowledge and experiences I've gained thus far in life. I can also impart any of the yoga and tai ji I've learned over the years and teach a bit of massage as well. I can also use/trade any other of the healing modalities I practice.

What I Can Share with Hosts
