ABOUT ME

Jer and I have recently left Bella Coola, but are thinking seriously about going back. I (Kerri) am a fibre nerd. I spin and dye my own wool, and am an obsessive knitter. I've also recently gotten into spinning. I'm a teacher by trade, and love the job, but don't want to work full time forever. Jer is an organic farmer and a chef by trade, but wants to have his own business.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've surfed more than we've hosted, mostly due to our living situation and the fact that we're not there when the travellers are! We'll see where we end up in the next couple of years and, hopefully, will be able to spend more time hosting...

We've couchsurfed our way across Europe now, and met some fantastic people along the way.

Interests

Kerri - I like to play. I like teaching and learning. Trees and birds and bears and rivers and fish and the ocean and flowers make me happy. I like growing my own food. I really like my chickens and my friends. Probably not in that order. Fibres and textiles are my obsession, and I can almost guarantee that if you spend more than 10 minutes with me, I'll pull out my knitting needles.

Jeremy - I love to grow my own food, and then make really pretty things with it, then eat it too, especially with my friends. I like to work with my hands, preferably outside. I can't wait to build our first home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kerri - I play the banjo and so, almost by default, am a bluegrass lady. I love music that makes people smile, laugh, jump and dance.

Teaching's what I do! I'm a writer, a physical educator, I pick an alright banjo, and I'm a pretty darn good knitter. I spin my own wool and dye it too. Give me a year or two and I'll be able to shear a sheep too! Jer's a fantastic cook and he knows a heck of a lot about what's growing in your garden. Whaddaya wanna know?
