About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet new people: share wisdom, laughter, food, and a couch ;0)

ABOUT ME

"All about me"? Uh, there isn't possibly enough room here ;0)
Probably the most telling fact is that I quit the California rat-race in early 2004, arrived in India later that year, and never left (well, except to get my needed visas). Auroville is home. I'm an 'honorary volunteer' in this human experiment and adventure; a willing participant in this living laboratory; a conscious being in this attempt at so-called human unity; swimming in the experience of unity in diversity. Anything else about me could probably be considered so much 'fluff' ;0)

PHILOSOPHY

All life is yoga.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My participation at this point is this ... reaching out, sharing a bit about myself, being open to possibilities. Ready for more adventure :0)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, been having surfers here since October now. In December / January I had three different surfers in as many weeks (that was a bit much for me: now I know). What still pleasantly surprises me is how much I truly enjoy showing them around Auroville. I really do love this place and sharing it is a joy for me. I decided to challenge my 'comfort zone' and accept a guy surfer. Now I've had two young guy surfers and they were both nice, interesting ... and interested in life. I have only good things to say so far ... and have 2 new requests in my 'inbox' ... hmmm ....

Interests

Hmmm... interests? I would have answered this much differently in California; now ... my interests are somewhat limited by my environment. That said, I am interested in knowledge and am an avid reader of books ranging from banal to philosophical and spiritual. When I made an income I absolutely loved to travel (but can't do that so much any more, or at least need to be more particular in my choices). I'm interested in all levels of health and well-being, clarity, sincerity, humility, passion, creativity, honesty, nature, good food, long walks, animals, the oceans, and the trees.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: rock and roll ... is there any other kind? ;0)
Movies: foreign, animated, comedic, dramatic, historical, etc.
Books: oh, don't get me started ;0) (see interests above)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, it was amazing for me anyway: you see, I grew up with people who were not my 'blood'; I had been adopted at a very young age. So, when I was 31 years, I found the courage to search for my biological parents. Within a couple months I was blessed with finding them. It changed my life in wonderful, almost unfathomable ways.

Teach, Learn, Share

Reading my answer to "people I enjoy" says a lot about who I am, where I come from, and where I'm headed. From the get-go, it's been a constant battle and a sometimes painful progression but hey, I believe that's what it takes to get through the ego and the mind ... to the essence of life. It's a very personal, sometimes lonely journey, but I wouldn't be on any other road.
