About Me

I love adventure and being outdoors. I'm laid back, polite, and enthusiastic. I just graduated from Elon University with a degree in Environmental Studies and I'm in the process of finding a place to live in the DC area but have already started working for LLBean as a kayaking instructor. My plan for the summer is to Couch Surf with friends and future friends (you) before finding a more permanent place of residence mid to late August.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that Couchsurfing will be a great opportunity for me to get to know the DC area and make a lot of new friends along the way.

Interests

Most of my interests are related to the outdoor world in some way. I love water whether I'm swimming in it, SCUBA or Free-diving under it or boating on top of it. I enjoy camping, hiking, rock-climbing, trying new things and meeting new people.

My favorite movies include In Bruge, Wrist Cutters (A love story), Wedding Crashers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fantasia and El Dorado.

Books: Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, The Alchemist, The Martian, Fahrenheit 451, and Harry Potter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When my studied abroad in Costa Rica I purposefully booked my return flight for two-weeks after the program ended. With very little planning I was able to go off by myself to a region that spoke very little English, rent a kayak and find a place to stay near a river. I learned how to whitewater kayak by walking to the river and following commercial rafts down a class II-III run for a week. At the end of the week I ran a beautiful 30 ft waterfall in the kayak with the guidance of some locals.
