About Me

I had 11 toes when I was born.

I have a unusual relation to my cat.

I sometimes talk to myself when I'm at work.

But trust me I'm alright, you'll see once we meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love meeting people with different backgrounds and even though I'm still looking forward to my first Couchsurfing experience, I'm convinced that this is a very honest way to meet open minded people which is exactly what I'm looking for. I've already spend quite some time traveling, living in hostels. Now I would really love to gain some travel experience in this way, as it will give you a totally different experience of a place compared to other ways of traveling (at least that's what I hope for)
In return I'd really love to host other travelers too, unfortunately my current living situation doesn't allow me to, if everything goes as planned I will be able from October on though.

Interests

My interests are quite versatile, and I'm always curious to do and learn new things.
outside activities like hiking, swimming or canoeing; going to the gym (cross fit and boxing). also I like cooking, never according to recipes though. In creative periods I do anything from photographs to drawing or some crafts stuff. Also I have a little secret passion for lyrics. I just love to read or hear beautiful words. The beauty and truth of words can be very inspiring to me. And of course I spend a lot of time with my friends, hanging out or going out, just having weird nights and great times together

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Honestly I got to say, I'm not that good with music when it comes to describing the genres of the music I listen to... that's probably just because I don't care too much. I just listen to what sounds good to me and that can be (almost) any genre. Also, I am that type of music listener who always has a handful of songs to listen to excessively for a while until some day they get replaced by other songs.

My top five song of the moment: Bon Iver - Skinny Love, The Animals - House of the Rising Sun, Milky Chance - Indigo (live), Sizarr - Baggage Man, Rodriguez - Sugar Man

BOOKS: With reading it's pretty much the same as with music - no specific genre (some preferences though). Still, at the moment I rather enjoy reading novels. Among the books I've recently read (and enjoyed): Jack Kerouac - On the Road (definitely need to read it a second, if not a third time), Clemens Meyer - Als wir träumten (novel about a group of boys growing up in crackling east germany, losing part of their identity and ending up out of control - not the best summary :D really good book though!), Alfred Hayes - In Love
I'm gonna stop writing about books at this point even though I could go on forever from Goethe's Faust to Michel Houellebecq (not referring to his latest book though, haven't read it so far)

MOVIES: I could just go on about movies for as long, but I'm just gonna list a few of the ones I really like, happy to further discuss that in person. The Big Lebowski, The Departed, Last Night, Snatch, Pulp Fiction, Das wilde Leben, Ensemble, c'est tout; No Country for Old Men…..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being one of the worst singers on this planet, I once performed Britney Spears' "I love Rock'n Roll" on a sailing boat on the Pacific in front of a group of people I'd only known for a couple of hours. I'm not too sure whether they would call it amazing… but entertaining for sure! (This was after losing in a drinking game, I should add)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy for all kinds of exchange, opinions, knowledge, anything.

One thing I could probably be taught is how to express information more compressed than in my profile here… yeah but honestly, sharing a meal together over a glass of wine is always a wonderful frame for great conversations, so I'm in for that any time!
In return I'm an expert in teaching foreigners the least useful german words you can imagine!
