I'm a 21 year old student from the Netherlands. I have recently been on an exchange to Aarhus (Denmark), where I experienced the true 'tourist-in-your-own-city-feeling'. When I had friends and family over visiting me for a couple of days, I realized that it's much more fun to see a city or region through a local's eyes. Touristic attractions are sometimes even less fun to show than to go to a place (café, library, beach, nature-ish place, you name it) you have made yourself comfortable in - and so by couchsurfing I hope to see places through different eyes, the eyes of what made other couchsurfers so comfortable in their own city.

Besides that, I'm studying history at Utrecht University and working at an ice cream parlour in Utrecht called 'IJs & Zopie'. Ice cream is magic, I can tell you. Whether you're selling or buying ice cream, people become happy on an instant level.

Furthermore, I like being goofy and doing crazy dances. 'As long as you can laugh about yourself, there's always someone who laughs about your jokes' is my motto. This and drinking wine, reading a good book or listening to my favourite artists on vinyl are amongst the nicest activities I practice.

For I believe that meeting new cultures and lifestyles through meeting new people can very much enrich a person :)

Even though in this world we're all relatively closely connected nowadays, there are still alot of differences (as well as similarities!) between cultures to be found. I enjoy exchanging experiences about places you've visited or countries you've lived in!!
