ABOUT ME

Ingrid and Adam grew up 15 minutes apart in a tiny mountain community in Western Maryland but their paths crossed several years later in Portland, Oregon. Ingrid left their hometown at 18 and has lived, studied, served, and (clumsily)wondered throughout the globe. She has been (un-characteristically) "settled" in Oregon for the last 3 years and plans to deepen her medical studies in the fall in CT. Adam has devoted the better part of his life immersed in music and all the joys and pitfalls that come with it. He claims the majority of his time is spent "practicing"... but not always music.

PHILOSOPHY

Find the balance of questioning and accepting. Ultimately, live simply and be kind.

NPR and good tea on a sunday morning. Exploring new recipes. Bicycles. Trees. Coffee. Libraries. Making music. Gaining a better understanding of World History. Appreciating the quarks in us all. Good jokes. Feeling connected. Healing. Clean air. Discovering what makes a city "bustle". Parks. Good books. Music, movies, and books that draw up new emotions. Books on tape. Conversation. And Ingrid really likes to play card games.

hehe... the arts are so overwhelming. It almost seems insulting to narrow it down. Ingrid loves good "old-timey" bluegrass... Adam detests it... Adam loves Avant-garde styles of music... which makes Ingrid feel crazy. Surprisingly, we can agree on lots... mainly ambient melodies like "Air" and Coltrane, But we surprise each-other. We both love documentaries, and the directors:Won Kar wai, Krystof Keislowski, Ingmar Bergman, and West Anderson.. (and many others)
We also both just love the authors: Gabriel Garcia-Marquez, Haruki Murakami, and Tom Wolfe. Most of our most favourite books are non-fiction, memoirs, and cook books:)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Amazing things EVERYDAY! Today we saw a security officer at the grocery store take a man's cart back to the store for him... It made us happy for some reason.

Ingrid's music teacher told her at the age of seven... if that she doesn't learn at least one new thing every day then the day was waisted.
