Overview
About Me
I am calm, friendly and sometimes a bit serious, but get reasonably talkative and (hopefully) funny when the atmosphere is right. I moved to Germany 3 years ago, finished my Master's here and am currently looking for a job.
I lead a simple life: I do yoga; I move around the city by bike or public transport; I eat clean and healthy; I love travelling (but rarely do recently), reading, music (oh I love music!), walking, and animals. I've got a pet cat called Cat, but I'm an animal person rather than specifically a cat person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The main reason for me to be here on Couchsurfing is the people, because I don't think you can fully immerse youself in a culture unless you talk to the local people. I also prefer to see any town or city through the eyes of a local rather than a travel magazine. Staying with someone also means you get to see how they live and what they eat, which is an essential part of any culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: indi-pop, electropop, electronic music by various artists. Some musicians I've been listening to a lot recently are Elderbrook, Jamie xx, Tove Lo, Aurora, Tom Misch, the list goes on.
Books: My Year of Rest and Relaxation, The Kite Runner, Shantaram, The Autumn of the Patriarch and many many more. I also read self-help.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quit a stable but badly-paid and stressful job at a university to become a yoga instructor and then to become an English teacher again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you:
- to cook a national Belarusian dish
- to eat healthier
- a few words in Russian, Belarusian, English, Spanish, or German
- how to learn a language efficiently, what sources to use
I can tell you what life is like in Belarus or Germany.
I can recommend you books to read or films to watch.
