ABOUT ME

I am a 28 year old who just moved into New Orleans from Berkeley, CA. I've been here for 4 1/2 months now and I love it.

I am a school teacher, a rocker chick, and a mediocre artist among other things. I like to travel, enjoy a nice glass of wine, rock shows, art neuvo, the grocery outlet, Ikea, thrift shopping, sleeping in late, studying Spanish, smelling Mr. Sketch red and orange markers, laughing at pretentious wine connoisseurs in the Napa Valley, escaping the real world in any way possible...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I opened up my couch to some people coming through town on a cross country road trip and had a great time. I like introducing people to what New Orleans has to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to couch surf, but the experience I had hosting was great. I was able to introduce my visitors to some of the handful of wonderful people I have met in this town so far.

Interests

I love rock music, especially post-punk, shoegaze and various types of alternative/indie rock. 80's night at One Eyed Jacks in the French Quarter is a great time.
I also am a big fan of travel, I've been through Europe, Mexico/Central America, Israel and the US/Canada and can't wait for my next adventure. I enjoy all forms of art and creativity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Back to the Future, Ghost World, Billy Madison, American Psycho

Music: I am a rocker chick so my tastes mainly fall into that category. Shoegaze, new-wave, post-punk, post-rock, alternative. I also like various forms of blues, ragtime and old-timey music.

Books: I very much enjoy reading children's chapter books. I think the Giver and A Wrinkle in Time are wonderful. I also enjoyed The Stranger, The Beach, anything by David Sedaris, and classics like To Kill a Mockingbird.
