About Me

CURRENT MISSION

go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence

-Desiderata

ABOUT ME

They say if you want to know someone heart, mind, and soul ask them to tell you about their birth. You won't get the truth. What you'll get is a story, and nothing is more telling than a story. (The Thirteenth Tale)

And so here's the story of my birth:

The day I was born was an absolutely sunshiny, really bright, beautiful day. And also it was a Tuesday. I like Tuesdays. I was born at precisely 4:44 pm, my mother being in labor for precisely 12 hours. And also I was early by a good three weeks. I would never show such aptitude for precision or punctuality again, but it seemed a good way to come into this world. Now I understand you might be asking yourself, “How does she know what her very own birthday was like?” And then you might rationalize that I probably asked my mother, or some one else who attended that very special day. Well indeed I did ask my mother, but she really said something more like “It was a nice day, I think.” As it happens, when one spends an entire day surrounded by stark white walls, and the blaring, glaring blaze of fluorescent lights, in considerable pain I am told, it doesn’t matter much what the weather is like outside, or what day of the week it is, or even what poetry was written. But the way I see it, I was born one absolutely sunshiny, really bright, beautiful day. And also it was a Tuesday. I like Tuesdays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked 50 miles and spent the night in a stranger's hunting shack.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in simplicity, mindfulness, and yoga. I can be pretty good at helping people decide to stop living a life they hate. (Though this community doesn't seem to be that sort of people)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty good story teller.
