About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Building a new social network in a new country

ABOUT ME

First and foremost, I'm a computer geek. Development tools, programming languages and such - I work on this stuff for a living, and it's also a large part of my hobbies.

I'm also a big fan of travel, both of the traditional kind and of the less civilized variety, such as cycling or hiking in the mountains.

And of course, meeting new people is always fun - especially now, as we've recently relocated to a new country and can no longer spend much time with our friends back in Russia.

Interests

Besides computers and travel, I'm quite passionate about role-playing games, both of the computer and table-top varieties. I played D&D fairly regularly for more than 10 years, and I've picked up Magic recently. Also, we're always eager to play board games (Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan and so on).

I'm also quite interested in linguistics - not only learning languages, but also the theoretical side of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for the movies, I typically enjoy the regular Hollywood blockbuster fare, especially sci-fi and action/adventure style movies.

My tastes in music primarily revolve around something that has guitar, bass and drums in it. Classic rock, Russian rock, metal (gothic/doom in particular), some jazz - you get the idea.

As for books, I used to be quite a big fan of fantasy. Now most of the stuff I read is either modern sci-fi or non-fiction stuff.
