ABOUT ME

not much to say - love life, still living and always fascinated and astonished by the diversity of the world that exists outside our preconceptions! I have been amazed to find out i've only travelled 14% of the world! what have i been doing...if i can't go to it then maybe some of it could come to me, then my turn...I love nature and wilderness and travel in remote areas in good company and scotland is amazingly beautiful once you head north and mostly west to the sea...if you've never been well i am a good ambassador for my country.....

PHILOSOPHY

trust is earned and good people do not do nothing...and as my good friend, who is also californian says love is as love does...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well been here a year or so and have net some lovely folk by hosting and for coffee/food and given advice by e-mail to a few on mostly walking/climbing in Scotland.
I dont log on frequently so i miss a few requests.
Impressed by the networking value of this project and the values of reciprocity that most here share. Look forward to being hosted myself one day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

birth of my daughter, awaking to another day, too many wild places seen to list but Etive on a sunny morning, the Tien Shan forests in autumn, the Thar desert at dawn, the Dolomites(Brenta) this summer with friends and my gal doing her first 8000ft pass! & the look of love reciprocated...

Teach, Learn, Share

good hearted people who know how to laugh and who have humility and compassion. My main flaw is intolerance of force and brutality & contempt and deceit!
Love this Hindu saying - "sometimes mad, sometimes naked, now as a scholar, now as a fool, go the FREE men (women) on earth... in medicine we have a saying see one,do one teach one..as with everything skills are for sharing when possible...
