Same reasons as everyone: To meet people from all over the world, to get to see stuff tourists usually don't see, and because I'm poor. Well, I used to think I was poor, but in fact I might just be some sort of bourgeois who enjoys to come in people's houses and observe how they behave in their natural habitat.
