CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently on an artist residency in New York. Otherwise I live and work in Johannesburg. I'm extremely my passionate about my city and its people and what it has to offer.

ABOUT ME

I am an artist and designer from Johannesburg. After I graduated I worked in the interior design industry for a couple of years until I did a very necessary and impulsive quit to pursue my art career which I am very happy with doing. I work with drawing, sculpture and installation and I am also passionate about design and typography. I teach typography and art workshops with wonderful young children. I'm interested in people and the way in which we interact with each other. I love cooking healthy food and growing food in my garden. I'm very loyal to and honest with the people I care for and love. I enjoy going on long hikes in beautiful places.

兴趣

I'm interested in art, environment, film etc. I love dreaming and remembering my dreams. Music, dancing, nature, fashion, people. I collect books and tea pots among many other memorabilia. I love 'people watching' and imagining their histories. I love going to the 'bush' ( safari) as South African's would say. I go at least once a year and have experienced some of the most exciting things there. Once a hyena took my friends laptop out of the hut and I ran out to stop the animal from eating it! True story I promise.

Some of my favourite music is ambient, electronic, jazz, 90s hip hop. My favourite children's film of all time is the Lion King! and other films I love are Paris Texas, The Tin Drum, Blue is the warmest colour. TED talks and other interesting youtube videos and on some days simply laughing out loud at animals doing funny things ( guilty pleasure).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I haven't travelled much yet, but one of my most outrageous experiences was going to Burning Man in the USA- I was quite young and naive and somewhat conservative, so it blew my mind a bit, which was great. I like to travel within South Africa, as we've got quite a rich natural history in our country. I plan to travel to Germany soon as well as neighboring countries.
