Overview
About Me
Hey there, I am Ioanna and I am originally from Greece. For the last 2 years, I am hitchhiking and traveling overland around Asia, with the goal of reaching home without flying starting my way back from Timor Leste!
I have been using Couchsurfing long before I created this profile, but I was sharing my account with my ex partner, so now I decided to start new!
I am vegan🌱 and I am generally doing my best to have the most environmentally sustainable lifestyle a traveler can have.
I care deeply for what is happening in the world and I try to stay informed and continue doing my best to help as much as I possibly can, even if I am traveling and don’t have much money. It honestly makes me very sad seeing many people forgetting all their values once they leave their home country. Traveling can change your life but shouldn’t change who you are.
I make macrame jewelry, crochet things and many different types of crafts and I love to share appreciation gifts with people that help me on the way!
I have a tent ⛺️and full camping equipment, so I can squeeze in everywhere( I just need two square meters of space) and I am always in for a camping trip if time allows!
I am not a city and nightlife person and I don’t drink alcohol or smoke. I have 0 problems with people doing any of the above, but I will likely skip a party night and it’s absolutely not personal.
I have an autoimmune disorder, called rheumatoid arthritis (I promise it’s not contagious). It doesn’t affect my life at all at the moment, but I struggled a lot in the past and I guess it’s something important to note about me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Apart from staying in the countries I visit, I want to see the culture and lifestyle of that place and make new friends. I received so much kindness and I hope I will be able to give back and open my house to others once I have one! Also my family house in Greece is open for friends, even if I am still away, so if you are planning to go let me know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am still alive (which is really remarkable in my opinion after everything I have been through 😂)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am eager to learn anything and everything anyone is willing to teach me, from new skills, to new languages( I am particularly interested in learning how to sail if anyone could help on that!).I can return it by teaching you anything I know, maybe some simple macrame techniques or some basic Greek! I can also give advice on how to travel without having a lot of money and I am always down to share experiences and stories!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can be a helping hand on pretty much everything, cleaning and some cooking (although I have to admit I I am not exactly a chef). Also as mentioned above, I always love to share some small handmade gifts, mainly jewelry I guess, but if you have something else in mind I can be creative
