About Me

Greetings from the Clyde!
My name is Iona, I'm an anti-nuclear campaigner and I'm one of five young women sharing a large house with a spacious front room to offer!
Also in the house are Nina (carer and support worker), Lindsay (poet, climate change advisor and festival organiser), Marie (native french speaker, artist and vegan chef) and India (ray of sunshine and refugee support worker for the Red Cross).
We value communal living and try to organise ourselves as communally as possible, sharing roles and responsibilities and hanging out as a group when we can. It's important to us that we retain a close relationship amongst ourselves and with our local community. This year we hope to have lots of work days where we'll be painting the house and working in the garden.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We really value having such a spacious house as it allows us to offer space to those in need of a bed for the night. The house has always acted as a safehouse for activists and friends in need. Setting up a couchsurfing page seemed like a natural progression of this lifestyle, and we're pleased to offer our couch to someone in need.
I really value seeing a new face every once in a while, and I also love to hear outsiders' thoughts and opinions about Scotland. Get in touch!

Music, Movies, and Books

Our housemate Lindsay has lots of connections with local Scottish artists from her festival days, and always knows the best gigs on in town. We have a projector in the living room which we use to screen movies together. I watch a lot of rubbish, but we like to throw in a documentary or two for good measure!

Favourite book: Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro
Favourite Movie: Cloud Atlas (2012)
Favourite Book: Tell My Horse ( Zora Neale Hurston)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Please take time to read through our 'tags' - if you have a serious problem with any of them then this may not be the right house for you. (veganism/freeganism is encouraged but by no means mandatory)

Tell us a little about your life and your interests!

Tell us what brings you to Glasgow! Are you happy to be left to your own devices or do you need someone to help show you around the city? How long do you plan to stay with us?
