ABOUT ME

I'm a huge fan of learning things through encounters with people. About 85% of what I know, I learned from observing or conversing with people. I would like to keep that process going. The world is only interesting because of the living things on it. If the living things weren't here, we'd just be an intergalactic museum.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by that Golden Rule: Treat others as you'd like to be treated. If you are going to be cold with me, I will return the favor. No sense making life any more unpleasant than it needs to be. If you know where to look and how to bend, life can be a pretty awesome thing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel the world. But I also want to contribute to karma by allowing others to do the same. That whole "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.", but without the back scratching. Though, that would be a nice perk....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a couple times so far and enjoyed it. I have yet to host, but that will change I'm sure.

Interests

Two words: ROLLER DERBY. I'm an official. And it's kind of the shit.....

Otherwise, I am willing to try just about anything once in my life. It seems silly to me not to. I mean, how can you tell people you don't like something if you've never actually tried it? You can't. I will try it so I can provide a concrete opinion one way or the other. Who knows, maybe I'll find something that changes my life? Like roller derby.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have not seen a wealth of "classic" movies and am considered deficient by some of my close friends. However, I am a large music fan. I have very specific things I dislike in music, but I can pretty much guarantee there is at least one area of likes that we will match in. As for reading....well, we have a sordid history that I don't want to talk about right now...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have taken a picture of a hole in the crotch of a lead singer's jeans. Not a famous band, but it was famous enough for me. Not to mention a great story to tell people....

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's see....I have a bunch of random knowledge in my head. I know American Sign Language fairly well. I'm a fan of roller derby. I'm a bit of a computer geek....well, and a geek in general.

I'm not afraid to learn, either. If I say something inaccurate or incomplete, PLEASE correct me. I like to know things, but I like to know they're right, too.
