About Me

Md. Iqbal Hossain is a Bangladeshi tea planter by profession and a photographer by passion—a rare fusion of precision and creativity. As an Executive at Duncan Brothers (Bangladesh) Ltd., an associate of Camellia PLC, UK. Iqbal has long balanced the structured discipline of plantation management with the expressive freedom of visual storytelling. He has spent years cultivating not only the finest tea but also a deep sensitivity to the rhythm of nature and life, which he channels through his lens. His dual identity offers a unique lens through which he views both the natural world and human life.
Iqbal holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and MS in Forestry from the University of Chittagong, and a Commonwealth Executive MBA (CEMBA) under the Commonwealth of Learning. Alongside his professional contributions to the tea industry, he has authored five widely respected books on tea, each reflecting his deep understanding of the industry and its cultural, ecological, and economic dimensions which offering insights into its agronomy, culture, and sustainability.
Yet, beyond the structure of estate life, the science of plants, the rows of Camellia bushes and estate management schedules, Iqbal finds his true creative release through photography. Born in Brahmanbaria and now based in Chattogram, he began his photographic journey as a quiet personal pursuit—an attempt to document fleeting moments and unnoticed beauty. Over time, that quiet curiosity matured into a purposeful craft.
Specializing in wildlife, landscape, portrait, and street photography, Iqbal is particularly drawn to capturing the rare and elusive moments of birds in their natural habitat. His work is distinguished by its simplicity, clarity, and deep emotional resonance - marked by clean compositions, natural light, and a painterly sense of timing. His photographs have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, earning accolades in renowned photography salons and publications.
More than just a photographer, Iqbal is also a mentor and visual educator. He frequently shares his knowledge through workshops and collaborative projects, nurturing a new generation of visual storytellers. Whether he’s documenting the textures of rural life, the serenity of forest landscapes, or the quiet dignity of everyday people, his images consistently reflect empathy, authenticity, and a keen narrative eye.
For Iqbal, photography is more than a medium - it is a mindset and perspective. A way of seeing. A quiet rebellion against the forgettable. He continues to pursue this path with humility, vision, and a relentless curiosity that invites others to pause, feel, and reflect.
For Iqbal, photography is not just a profession - it is a perspective. A way of paying attention. A quiet rebellion against the forgettable. A personal philosophy rooted in observation and wonder. With humility and a relentless curiosity, he continues to explore the world through his viewfinder, inviting others to see with both heart and mind.
