我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have hosted people in the past and loved the opportunity to meet folks, learn from different perspectives, and share my favorite parts of my city.

I haven't stayed with a couchsurfing host yet, but am looking forward to. Love the concept of building relationships and intercultural exchange versus experiencing a place from a tourist/outsider perspective.

Traveling with a group of students in Indonesia, we learned about environmental & cultural sustainability efforts from the locals... How to make coconut fiber, how the sea turtle population is being rescued, how local ecosystems are being restored, how local political decisions are being made, how US and other imperialist nations are impacting the health of Indonesians, how people are adapting to the tourism industry.
