Hi there :)

my name is Iris, I am officially 30 years old (though sometimes I feel 10 years younger and sometimes 100 years older) and at the moment I am finishing my Master in International Marketing in Lisbon, Portugal.
Most of my twenties I spent studying and working (Marketing and Sales), following the standard way of life until it hit me three years ago and I started travelling and seeing the world. I started with some travels in Europe and moved to Lisbon for my Master degree.

In general I am a very kind and active person. I love inspiring conversations, I love learning and growing and most of all I love creating. Whatever it is, I love creation: Today is the best day to create the world you want to live in! This might sound a little bit kitschy but I have been on the other side of this beautiful life and that was not an option.

I love to gain new knowledge and making new experiences in order to understand other people and moreover cultures. I am very open minded and try to be the most positive self I can be as well as supporting other people in being their best version. I love to laugh and I love laughing together with people.. until everyone is staring at us and we start crying, cause we cannot stop laughing.

Too be a little critical too: I like to socialise and I like meeting new people and cultures but at the same time I like being on my own and just process all the new experiences. So sometimes my introvert nature comes to the surface and I just stay home for a night. But the next day I am up for crazy mischief monkey business again :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

The better question would be: Why I am not already on Couchsurfing?

I think I had been too scared of all the things like: how to find a good host? Will they kill me in my sleep? What will I do if they don´t like me? ... you know THOSE questions ;)

But now it is the time to connect with you guys! Especially now that I am going to Brasil, I do not have much interest in all those tourist-gringa-stuff. I already have so beautiful brasilian friends here in Lisbon, I really want to get in contact with people and the country. I can go to a beach everywhere, but I cannot fell the lightness, the smiles or the samba everywhere, or even the political issues going on at the moment. These are the things I want to know.

I am not a big movie fan but I love TV series and netflixing for hours.

With music I am quite picky but quite undecided: I love all kind of music which is authentic and makes me dance and flow. If that is Techno or Jazz or Funk or Punk Rock. As long as it makes me move.

I love learning as I love sharing knowledge. Since I love to read and to grow, I know a lot of pragmatic stuff to make your life easier and bring more quality into your life. I love to share those tiny hacks, if it is communication/ time management/ analysis/ self-reflection/ strategic planning and most of all: finding solutions. For anything.
With my background in Marketing and Management I can support startups/ freelancers with their strategic orientation etc.

an of course I speak German and English and I really want to be fluent in Portuguese :)
