Hey there :) My name is Iris and I'm a 23-years old girl from Austria. I am working in a travel agency and I'm a Japan lover.
So, I'm a very open minded person who is interested in exploring different countries. Depending on the behaviour of my opponent I am either shy or completely extroverted. I love Karaoke and I love having drinks in a pub with fun people. What I enjoy the most is being outside, no matter if it's in the city or the countryside.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I love to meet new people and I guess that you can only really learn about a country when you're interacting with natives.
I don't want to deny that couchsurfing is a great opportunity to stay somewhere for free - my budget is low, and staying with fun (native) people for free is the best thing I can imagine while travelling!

I am currently not able to let you stay at my home because I'm still living with my mum. I have planned to move out after this year. If you're travelling in my are please send me a message, I'd love to guide you around nevertheless!

Interests

I am addicted to Japan, travelling, music and Game of Thrones.
So what I'm basically doing all day long is planning my trips to Japan, while listening to music and waiting for another episode of Game of Thrones to be released ;)
Just kidding, I also like to cook (escpecially asian cuisine), to take photos while going on long walks in the countryside. I love to hang out with friends and to have a beer or two (or even more ^^) when the atmosphere is right. Additionally I am also having a blog where I use to write about my trips to Japan (4 until now) and about any other Japan related topic like cultural aspects etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Japan with a stranger!
That's a fun story actually ^^
I met a girl on Instagram, she was a Japan-addict just like me and without meeting each other before we booked a flight to Tokyo together. So 3 months later she came to Japan with me, still not really knowing each other else than from the internet. It was definitely the best decision ever because she became a very special friend and we have already booked another flight for November 2015. So here we are now - looking for a host in Kyoto :)
