Hi! I'm Iris and I'm from the South of France. But I've lived in various cities in France or abroad and I don't mind to move in in a different city every six months!

I love travelling, to discover new landscapes, museums, take a Polaroid picture when I see interesting things... and of course to meet new people. It's the best way to completely enjoy a trip abroad, according to me.

I'm also very interested in Arts (including music, drama...), American literature, FOOD (yes, capital letters on purpose!) and wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting locals during a trip is one of my favorite things, as you can learn plenty of things about the city/country and even make new friends! :)

Interests

I studied History of Art in Paris and I just loved it... Now my dream is to see everything I've studied for real! A great excuse to travel, right?

And about wine... well I just love meeting passionate people who make (or drink ;) ) wine, it is so interesting and fascinating to me. There's so much to learn, and that's what I love about it. I believe wine is also a way to discover a region's culture, as it is linked to the soil, the landscape, the history, the people...
I'm a real wine geek and I never say no to trying new wines :D (works for food as well, obviously!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Rock, Folk, Pop, and sometimes old French songs :o
My favorite bands are alt-J, Pink Floyd and Phoenix.
I used to be in a rock band myself in high school.

I like TV series more than movies, I don't know why. But anyway I watch an episode every morning when I'm alone, it gets me in a good mood for the day. :)

Literature, especially English literature, is one of my favorite things in life. I particularly love the Beat Generation (those poets and writers from the pre-hippie era) and US Southern writers such as Faulkner, Harper Lee, Margaret Mitchell... I just LOVE discussing books! :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef in the Whitsundays... breathtaking!
And touring the Barossa Valley wineries by bike during two days - challenging but SO worth it!
