I am an English/History double major who recently completed an exchange semester at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!) and is currently travelling across America.

I am a writer who focuses on personal essays and travel narratives looking to experience as much local culture as possible wherever I go. I have an avid interest in history and postmodern literature and am always looking to expand my knowledge on local culture.

I have always preferred to reject the tourist traps and tourist areas of wherever I go in favour of finding the hole in the wall places that only the locals know and to really experience what a city or a town is like underneath the carefully cultivated image.

As someone who has grown up constantly on the move and constantly travelling I have always been interesting in meeting people from all walks of life and listening to their experiences and their views.

兴趣

Reading - avid fan of Stephen King but also big reader of Sci Fi, Fantasy, and postmodern literature. Will read just about anything you put infront of me if its left there long enough.

Writing - have written short stories and personal essays in the past but am now focusing on travel narratives.

Music - big fan of the EDM scene and going anywhere that has live music.

History - my academic focus is on military history and 20th century warfare but I love reading, discussing and learning history from any time period.

Film - nothing like a good movie on a quiet night or in rewatching an old classic and discovering something new.

Was the Administrative Vice President of the largest student association in New Zealand last year where I appeared on both local and national news, organised the 100th commemoration of ANZAC Day for Otago University and got to manage and be acting president of a multi-million dollar organisation.
