ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Isaac.
I'm an artist, polar explorer, and serial traveller. I was recently chosen by the National Science Foundation to join a 10 man team to traverse from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole.
I'm an adventure sport affectionado. I love mountaineering, paragliding, scuba diving, kite boarding, rock and ice climbing, surfing and snowboarding. Really anything that gets me outside and lets me experience the forces of nature.
Avocados hold a special place in my heart.
PHILOSOPHY
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to travel and have always reveled at the chance to stay with locals. Couch Surfing seems like such a wonderful idea, I'm excited to stay with people while on the road and host travelers while hunkered down.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I just joined CS but have stayed with many locals via serendipitous encounters while on the road. My favorite would have to have been in Jaipur, India. A high demand for bycicle rickshaws lead to me sharing one with a man head home after work. A friendly chat lead to a dinner invitation which lead to a nights stay. One of reasons this experience stands out is that the man lived in the slums and was very poor. He would absolutely not take any money for the food or accommodation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being on an Icebreaker in Antarctica- seeing whales play around and under us as the ship was propelled on top of the sea ice only to crash down through it over and over.
Scuba diving at night and getting to turn off our flashlights- the phosphorescent plankton turned us into wizards able to shoot blue fireballs from our hands.
Getting to watch Barak Obama get inaugurated in 2008 after driving 25 hours non-stop to make it to Washington DC in time.
Countries I’ve Visited
Antarctica, China, Colombia, India, Kenya
Countries I’ve Lived In
