Hello, I'm Isabel and I've recently moved to Auckland, New Zealand. I am from the UK and growing up with a family who love to travel and explore, this led me to travel through New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia before university. Arriving in the hectic city of Delhi as a young 19 year old it opened my eyes to the rest of the world that I'm eager to explore.

At university I've participated in BUMMIT, a charity hitch-hike across Europe. My first trip we managed to hitch-hike from Sheffield to Split, Croatia catching a total of 36 lifts and even hitching a Jamaican Reggae band called Morgan Heritage and they invited us to watch their gig in Prague. If you're into reggae they're pretty good http://morganheritagemusic.com/ check them out. The second hitch hike we managed to get to Bucharest, Romania. Through hitch-hiking this allowed me to discover how kind and open so many strangers are.

Last summer I spent a couple of months in India travelling and researching for my undergraduate dissertation and spent many weeks up in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing to meet all those thousands of people who are like minded who believe that couchsurfing is more interesting than staying in a hotel or hostel. I love learning new things and staying with a local would offer both of us new and exciting experiences.

After many experiences of relying on the generosity of strangers through such things as hitch hiking I've realised how lovely so many people are. I'm an avid fan of car sharing and Blabla car and feel travelling across the UK and accommodation makes it inevitably hard for many people to travel across the country.
